Nutritionist reveals the three best fruits for gaining weight (and muscle)

PTo gain weight in no time at all or go from being small to big, there are allied foods. Some of them are already in your fruit bowl.

In an exclusive interview with Sport Life, nutritionist Renata Branco highlighted a trio of fruits. To know:

1- Watermelon

Rich in vitamins and minerals A, C and B6, zinc, iron, calcium, potassium and magnesium, watermelon is an ally post-workout. “It helps with complete hydration, like a natural isotonic drink due to its high concentration of water and electrolytes”, highlights the nutritionist. “It is also rich in nitric oxide, which improves recovery by increasing oxygen circulation to the blood and muscles. Additionally, it has an amino acid called citrulline, which helps with muscle formation and reduces fatigue.”

2- Banana

The amount of carbohydrates present in bananas guarantees energy and increases training performance. According to Renata Branco, “it is an excellent option for pre-workout or post-workout”. And that’s not all: this fruit is also a source of potassium, “essential for regulating muscle contraction and preventing cramps.”

3- Avocado

“It is rich in healthy fats, helps with satiety and is important for intestinal function. It is also a source of fiber, potassium, sodium, magnesium, vitamin A, C, E, K 1, phytosterols and glutathione, which is a powerful antioxidant. Avocado also has a high potassium content, which regulates muscle activity.
