Products from companies in the Beja district once again receive the Flavor of the Year distinction, namely Azeite de Moura DOP Extra Virgin from the Cooperativa Agrícola de Moura e Barrancos, products from Queijaria Guilherme: Fresh Goat Cheese Atabafado, Fresh Goat Cheese Atabafado Light and the most recent novelty, Fresh Atabafado Goat Cheese with Olive Paste and also, Aldeia Nova Black Pork Paio from Paladares Alentejanos. Abegoaria also saw some of its award-winning products once again.

“Azeite de Moura DOP” is the “Flavor of the Year 2024” choice for the 8th edition
The Flavor of the Year award continues to confirm its leadership in the food sector by rewarding, in the 2024 edition, 124 products in different categories, from a total of 32 companies. Through more than 10,000 blind tests, carried out by consumers, in an accredited sensory analysis laboratory – ALS Fullsense -, following a strict protocol and guaranteeing the impartiality of the test, five criteria were evaluated: Taste, Appearance, Odor, Texture and Satisfaction Global.
In this year’s edition, Manufacturer’s Brands came closer to Distribution’s own Brands and managed to see 60 award-winning products from a total of 124 references.
The Fruits & Vegetables sector is once again the most participated, with 17 award-winning products, followed by the Bakery/Pastry category with 9 winning products and the Cheese sector with 7 distinguished products.
The winners of the Flavor of the Year Award will automatically benefit from the use of the seal for 13 months, distinguishing their products from the competition.
The event took place at Estúdio Time Out Market Lisboa and was presented by the well-known presenter Mónica Jardim.
