The PS will not make any amending budget review of the Guarda chamber possible again, in the response, the mayor says that this decision could jeopardize structuring projects –

Remember that the chamber is without a budget this year after two failures by the opposition. Consequently, the municipality is being managed financially with twelfths and through, at least for now, a first amending budget review. In the last Municipal Assembly, the PS ratified the aforementioned budget review, but left a warning, wanting to see a new budget presented by the executive led by Sérgio Costa. In response, the mayor of Guarda said that this will be the way to continue governing, highlighting that he continues to negotiate and accept the opposition’s proposals, as happened in this first budget review. In view of these statements, the leader of the socialist bench, Miguel Borges, made it clear that the PS will not make any other budgetary revision possible again. More reactions followed, with Ricardo Neves de Sousa from the PSD being more lenient, but warning the mayor of Guarda that from now on he cannot be victimized for not having an approved budget. José Valbom from the PG, on the other hand, was tougher, but with the PS deputy and regretted the threats that Miguel Borges left in the air. The president of the Guarda chamber, Sérgio Costa, also regretted the words and the way in which the leader of the PS bench addressed them to him. As for the political position that the PS took, Sérgio Costa regrets it, and reminds the socialist deputy that this decision could jeopardize structuring projects for the municipality.
