The race for the VCL Portugal Tempest grand final kicked off this Saturday with SAW and Impulse GW triumphs in the upper bracket of the competition.
Defending champions and #1 seed with a 13-1 record in the regular phase, SAW had no major difficulties overcoming EX0TIK in the opening game, sending them to the lower bracket with a 2-0 score.

Waiting for the superior final of the VCL Tempest, SAW watched from the sidelines the clash between ELEVATE and Impulse GW which, after having divided maps in the regular phase of the championship, promised to be close and so it was in the 2nd duel of the day.
It was with a hard-fought victory at Ascent (14-12) that Rui’s team “Akira” Barbosa opened the series and the response was not long in coming from ELEVATE, seed #2 who reestablished equality in a dominant Lotus (13-6).
With Akira in the spotlight, Impulse GW built a comfortable lead at Sunset and never gave it up again, completing the 2-1 with a 13-7 victory that brings them closer to a presence in the grand final.
This Sunday, EXOTIK and ELEVATE will face each other at 15:00 to decide which one will leave the VCL Portugal Tempest Playoffs, with the duel between SAW and Impulse GW scheduled for March 9th.
