IV Knowledge Fair – Civil Protection starts on the 21st in Albufeira

As part of the celebrations of the International Civil Protection Day, which is celebrated on the 1st of March, whose celebrations in Albufeira have been taking place since the 6th, with a diverse program of activities, on the next 21st, 22nd and 23rd of March, The IV Knowledge Fair – Civil Protection is taking place at EMA – Espaço Multiusos de Albufeira, from 10am to 7pm.

The opening of the event is scheduled for the 21st (Thursday), at 10 am, with the inauguration of the Virtual Risk Room and the official visit to the Exhibition of Means and Resources of Civil Protection Agents and Cooperating Entities, on display in the Car Park from the Municipal Cantina. At 11:00 am the lectures begin with the Homologation of Passive Fire Protection Solutions: Guarantees and Responsibilities (APSEI – room B) and a Cinotechnical demonstration (GNR – municipal canteen car park).

The program continues at 12:00 pm with the following lectures: Management and Response to Emergency in Railway Infrastructure (Infraestruturas de Portugal – room B); The Nurse at My School (Local Health Unit of Albufeira – room B) and AED Program – Automatic External Defibrillation of the Municipality (CMA – room A); Maritime Citizenship Actions (Maritime Police – room B); Animal First Aid (BVA – room A); Road Safety (GNR/Traffic Detachment – ​​room B) and Mass Training in Basic Life Support – BLS (BVA/Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa – room A).

On Friday, 22nd, the program starts at 10am, with the lecture Vespa Vetulina – POSEUR (AMAL/GTF Albufeira – room B). Below are Risks Associated with Road and Rail Infrastructure (Infrastructures of Portugal – room A); New PLIS Platform (AGIF – room B); Mass Training in BLS (BVA/Cruz Vermelha – room A); Primary Network (ICNF – room B); Importance of Oncology Screenings (Albufeira Local Health Unit – room A); The Work of Safe Communities Portugal In Civil Protection (Safe Communities – room B); The Fox Calls (AGIF – room A); Training in “Operational Risk Management on the Arriba Coast” (APA-ARH do Algarve – room B); Maritime Security and Maritime Rescue (National Maritime Authority – Maritime Police – room A); Prevention of Drowning (APSI – room B); Animal First Aid (BVA – room A) and Safe Internet (GNR – room A).

On the last day, Saturday, 23rd, work begins at the same time (10 am) with the lecture on Pediatric First Aid (BVA – room B). This is followed by Mass Training in BLS (BVA and Red Cross – room A); The Role of Amateur Radios in the Emergency (Amateur Radio – room A); Animals in Disaster and Catastrophe Situations – How to Manage (veterinarian – room B); Fire Prevention and Forest Defense (GNR – SEPNA – room B) and presentation of the Albufeira Municipal Emergency and Civil Protection Plan (SMPC – room B).

In addition to the lectures, daily, participants have access to the Exhibition of Means and Resources for Civil Protection Agents and Cooperating Entities, the Virtual Risk Room, the Algarve Seismic and Tsunami Risk Study Simulator, the Crash Simulator for Children and Young people, Tornado and Volcano Simulator and visiting the GNR Cavalry. Highlighted is the possibility of participating in various screenings and awareness-raising actions, namely on smoking cessation, blood pressure, blood glucose and oximetry, oral health, diabetes, prevention, bathing safety, rescue and relief, awareness-raising action on the Asian mosquito, prevention accidents, first aid, reading labels, among others.
