Lions Women’s Solidarity with the Food Bank

Each year, the choice of the institution to allocate the funds collected among the participants in the Solidarity Tea organized by the Lions Club of Póvoa de Varzim, which was also created to mark International Women’s Day, is renewed. This time, the recipe from the event held on March 9th, at the Hotel São Félix, was handed over to the President of the Portuguese Federation of Food Banks Against Hunger, Isabel Jonet. Never has Chá Solidário been so participatory.

As usual, the Councilor of the City Council and fellow Lions, Lucinda Amorim thanked all the women present in the solidarity initiative, highlighting Isabel Jonet for the admirable work she has done with the institutions and in the support provided to the most disadvantaged.

The President of the Portuguese Federation of Food Banks Against Hunger returned the thanks, highlighting the fact that the Póvoa de Varzim Lions remembered the institution they represent, thanking them for the help they received.

When the tea was already being enjoyed in the room, Rodrigo Moça entered and, after some thanks, said that while he is President of the Lions Club of Póvoa de Varzim, whenever possible, the club will help the Banco Alimentar Contra a Fome.

Isabel Jonet received a check for 2000 euros from Rodrigo Moça, as a result of the fundraising carried out at Chá Solidário.
