The Trás-os-Montes team started the game well and didn’t feel the pressure of being in last place. Still, it was Vitória de Guimarães who opened the scoring.

At 20′, Jota Silva scored and put the team from Guimarães ahead, after having made a first warning, which ended up hitting the post.

Chaves’ answer came through the usual suspect. Héctor Hérnandez restored equality three minutes later.

At half-time, Trás-os-Montes and Minho were tied at 1-1.

In the second half, the home team came out better again and managed to outperform their opponents. They even had an opportunity to take the lead, through Guzzo, but the Victorian goalkeeper was alert and headed for a corner.

Without anything making him predict it, and against the flow of the game, Vitória ends up scoring. After a bad decision by Chaves’ goalkeeper, Hugo Souza, who fouled Nélson Oliveira, the Minho captain, Tiago Silva, made it 1-2 through a penalty.

Desportivo de Chaves still tried to reverse the situation and did not give up, but they were unable to avoid defeat and have been without a win for four games.

Vitória de Guimarães remains in fifth place, now with 50 points, just three behind Sporting de Braga, while Desportivo de Chaves remains in 18th and last place, with 19 points.
