The Braga Territorial Command of the National Republican Guard (GNR), through the Criminal Investigation Center (NIC) of Barcelos, arrested nine men on March 20, aged between 25 and 53, for safe theft crimes. in homes, in the municipality of Barcelos. The information was released this Friday by the Guard.
In a statement, the GNR said that, “as part of the investigation into 15 thefts in homes, in the districts of Braga, Viana do Castelo, Porto, Bragança and Portalegre, the Guard soldiers carried out 16 search warrants, 11 homes and five in vehicle”. 11 cell phones, 4,650 euros in cash, eight screwdrivers, two mountain passes, two flashlights, one pliers, two gold objects, several fake/counterfeit notes, two knives and a brass knuckle were seized.
The detainees, with criminal records for the same type of crime, were accused and present at the Judicial Court of Vila Nova de Famalicão, with the coercive measure of preventive detention being applied to five defendants. The remaining four defendants were subject to daily and weekly appearances at police stations in their respective areas of residence.
The action was reinforced by military personnel from the Porto Territorial Command.
