It will be next to the Municipal Pavilion in the town of Juncal, where there is currently a motocross track, where the future School Center of the parish will be built.
The purchase of a plot of approximately 28 thousand square meters was approved at the last public council meeting, with votes in favor of the two political forces represented in the executive, for a sum of 150 thousand euros which, says the president of the Chamber, Jorge Vala, seems «adjusted», even more so taking into account that the seller of the land will be the one to place it at the Municipal Pavilion level – committing «to dig up the area by the end of this year 2024».
The area, says the mayor, is an area with «potential growth and that will also finally provide conditions for a town that currently has a primary school that is completely exhausted, that has nowhere to grow and that urgently needs this project to come to fruition» – which is already included in the municipality’s Educational Charter.
Asked by councilor Rui Marto about «the intention of doing something more than the School Center», since the plot of land is «crossed by two paths» Jorge Vala replied that the Chamber is studying «the best way to make the connection from the Juncal Educational Institute to the School Center from these existing roads, a distance of around 500 meters.
