Several IPMA notices are active for this Tuesday. On a day when rain will once again be constant, yellow warnings remain for snowfall from 600m and strong winds, as well as orange warnings for sea disturbances. Temperatures continue to fall and today the maximum does not exceed 13ºC in Vila Verde and the region.

There are 11 districts in mainland Portugal with a yellow warning due to snowfall. The IPMA states that it may snow in unusual places, such as the São Mamede mountain range, in Portalegre, and the Monchique mountain range, in the Algarve.

According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the week will see «a change in the circulation pattern to a predominant westerly flow, the passage of frontal disturbances or depression regions across the continental territory».

Precipitation “will continue throughout the week and may be persistent from Wednesday or Thursday onwards”.

This Tuesday, in addition to the sea unrest (with the orange level from 12:00 pm until 9:00 am on Wednesday), a yellow warning will be in effect for strong winds from the northwest, between 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm.

The yellow warning for snowfall above 600m will remain in effect until 3pm this Tuesday.
