A portrait of Chega’s bench, the party that grew the most in Parliament

-

Chega was the party that grew the most in Parliament. In these legislative electionswent from 12 to 50 deputies, but not all of them are allowed to speak to journalists.

To those who were already there, another 38 were added. Suddenly, 50 Chega deputies sat in Parliament.

There’s almost everything. Advisors who are now deputies, former deputies from other parties who are now Enough and deputies who have already been detained. Marcus Santos, who declined to speak to SIC, was detained in 2004 and 2005 for “violating immigration rules” in the United States.

But in Chega, there is still the youngest deputy of the 230 parliamentarians and also the oldest.

But with the youngest, Madalena Cordeiro, aged 20, it is not yet time to talk.

Diogo Pacheco de Amorim is the oldest deputy. Former MDLP leader refuses links to bomb attacks during the Ongoing Revolutionary Process.

To the youngest people now entering Parliament, Diogo Pacheco de Amorim advises assertiveness and prudence.

Prudence dictates not to stray even a millimeter from leader André Ventura, who is no longer the sole deputy, but who continues to be in charge.
