Due to the forecast of intense rain for the next few days, the Municipality of Vila Nova de Cerveira postponed the Easter Market, moving from the 28th to the 30th of March to the 5th to the 7th of April.

The municipality noted that “the decision was thoroughly evaluated, reaching the conclusion that the true essence of the event – contact with nature and family fun – would not take place with the announced weather conditions”.

In this sense, the Easter Market takes place on the first weekend of April (5th to 7th April), immediately after the festive season, over three days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).

“The schedule already announced may undergo some changes, due to changes in dates, so it will be announced in a timely manner”, said the municipality.

For the Municipality of Vila Nova de Cerveira, “the experience of this festive season must be in a natural and family context, for which we thank everyone for their understanding, hoping that the weekend of April 5th to 7th will be, from now on, , reserved to enjoy an event with countless activities for kids and adults.”

The schedule for the Giant Egg Exhibition – ‘The Colors of Easter’ remains the same.

In total, 15 original eggs, created by IPSS’s, sports, recreational and cultural associations, as well as parish councils in the municipality, are distributed throughout the historic center of Vila Nova de Cerveira, from March 28th to April 7th.

Also the “Burning of Judas”, which usually takes place on the Saturday before Easter, was postponed until April 6th.
