Externato Dom Fuas Roupinho, together with the Municipal Civil Protection Service of Nazaré, will organize a Civil Protection club with a view to raising awareness and preparing the school community for emergency situations.

This initiative is integrated into the Nazaré + Sensibilizada, Nazaré + Protegida program of the Municipal Civil Protection Service, and although it is not yet active, it has already been presented to the Pedagogical Assembly of the Externato Dom Fuas Roupinho, which should soon “develop skills in the field of prevention and self-protection” among students, explains a statement from the municipality.

The project is also part of the public awareness program of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority, in conjunction with the risk education framework.

“It is in this context that education for safety and risk prevention is included as a fundamental element in the construction of a safety culture, by developing skills in the field of prevention and self-protection which contribute to the adoption of responsible attitudes and behaviors and appropriate, in the face of serious accidents or catastrophes that populations may face, thus contributing to the construction of more resilient communities”, says this entity, cited in the press release.

The club will be aimed at a younger audience “either because of the impact of educational communities on the general population, or because of the multiplier effects on future generations”, states the Nazaré Municipal Civil Protection Service.
