The Santos da Casa festival, organized by the homonymous program of Rádio Universidade de Coimbra (RUC) dedicated to Portuguese music, starts on Good Friday and ends on the 13th of May, with concerts in Coimbra, Porto and Cantanhede.

The event will have Coimbra, as usual, the epicenter of its programming, but this year it will be present in Porto and Cadima (municipality of Cantanhede), after going to Viseu in 2023, the organization announced.

The festival, which already has 26 years of history, is an extension of RUC Santos da Casa’s daily program, dedicated to Portuguese music and which has been in existence for more than three decades, and is hosted by announcers Nuno Ávila and Fausto Silva.

The event, which is spread across several spaces in Coimbra, continues to aim to give a stage to “bands and artists that are regularly featured in the program”, bringing projects to the city that have not yet had the opportunity to showcase themselves, highlighted the organization.

In Coimbra, names such as singer-songwriter Nuno Melo (2 de Abril), who presents some songs from his first solo album “Fora de Formato”, Velho Homem (5 de Abril), a project in which Afonso Dorido (Homem em Catarse) and Francisco Silva (Old Jerusalem) work from everyday sound recordings, or redoma (13 de Abril), a duo from Porto that brings together rapper Carolina Viana with producer Joana Rodrigues.

Still in the city, there will be a concert by A nettle at the Centro Cultural Penedo da Saudade, and four concerts in the RUC corridor, by pollen, Carlos Raposo, Adfectus and A Cantadeira, which will be broadcast live on the Santos da Casa program.

On April 4th, the festival passes through Porto, at Maus Hábitos, for a concert by Knok Knok, who presents their third original album “Camera”, and, on April 21st, there will be a party at Lúcia-Lima, in Cadima , with a Dead Club concert and DJ set by Santos da Casa.

The festival starts this Friday, with a DJ set by one of the program’s announcers, Nuno Ávila, at Pinga Amor.
