In the center of Lisbon, this afternoon, a courageous crowd of young people defied the adverse weather conditions to express their demands for better working conditions and fairer wages.

Armed with union banners and fighting slogans, the protesters left Rossio towards the Assembly of the Republic, demonstrating an unshakable determination despite the intense rain and wind.

The secretary general of CGTPTiago Oliveira, highlighted the fighting spirit and firmness of the young people, noting that this demonstration is a powerful demonstration of determination to guarantee a more prosperous future.

The mobilization was called by Interjovem, an organization of young CGTP workers, in favor of better working and living conditions, including salary increases and reduced working hours.

In addition to the demonstration in Lisbon, other similar actions were planned in some parts of the country, such as Vila Nova de Gaia, demonstrating a national movement in favor of better youth policies. These initiatives also coincided with the celebration of National Youth Day, emphasizing the importance of young people’s voice and action in building a more just and equitable future.
