The Dr. José Lourenço Júnior Foundation announces that its project “Capacitar para Intervir” was nominated for the Erasmus+ 2024 Award, in category 7, placing it among the three best projects nationally within its area.

The initiative, developed within the scope of “Adult Education”, is focused on training the institution’s employees through specific training carried out in the Netherlands. The therapeutic approach used in training, Snoezelencombines sensory stimulation, cognitive stimulation and relaxation.

Furthermore, participants have the opportunity to learn about care for elderly people with dementia in institutions in the Netherlands, as well as the models of care, appreciation and humanization adopted by social institutions in that country.

The Erasmus+ Award is an annual distinction granted by the National Erasmus+ Education and Training Agency, which recognizes projects that stand out as good practices in the educational and training sector. The “Empower to Intervene” initiative was selected from a series of projects highlighted as good practices by evaluators and monitoring technicians.

The big winner will be revealed during the Erasmus+ 2024 Awards Gala, scheduled for April 9th, at Casa da Cultura da Ericeira, in the municipality of Mafra.
