The MIMO Festival Amarante, which takes place on the 19th, 20th and 21st of July, added two more names to the lineup, announcing Dino de D’Santiago and Femi kute & The Positive Force.
The Portuguese Dino D’Santiagoone of the most important and award-winning Portuguese-speaking voices today, after a tour solo, he returns in 2024, accompanied by a band, presenting his innovative mix of Cape Verdean rhythms with global urban and electronic music.
Femi Kutithe heart and soul of modern afrobeat, eldest son of the mythical and revolutionary musician Fela Kuti, brings to the MIMO Amarante stage traditional sounds from his country, which meet the softness and delicacy of Ghanaian highlife and soul, funk and US R&B, seducing the audience with danceable beats.
These are the most recent confirmations from the festival, which had already announced Marcelo D2 – who begins his European tour to launch the praised album “Iboru” at MIMO – and Fatoumata Diawarafrom Mali, by the singer, songwriter, guitarist and activist, who presents the award-winning album “London Ko”, which was co-produced and participated by Damon Albarn (Blur and Gorillaz).
With 20 years of existence, more than two million spectators in Brazil and Portugal and completely free entry to all activities, the MIMO Festival returns to the city of Amarante in a carefully prepared program. A way to repay all the affection and prestige shown by the public and the partners who make it possible, with attractions from various parts of the world, considers the organization.
Conceived and directed by the producer Lu Araújo and held in cities rich in historical heritage, MIMO crossed the Atlantic in 2016, maintaining the same model, starting with the high quality of the programming – inclusive, diverse, bold and entirely free.
Another MIMO Amarante of unique sounds, aesthetics and textures is anticipated, in which music occupies not only the stages, but the entire city, with concerts and parallel activities such as lectures, workshops, exhibitions, performances, cinema, processions, MIMO well-being and sustainable itineraries.
