A Judicial Police (PJ) arrested, this Thursday, the presumed perpetrator of a crime of aggravated rape that happened last week, on the island of Faial, in the Azores.
According to a statement from authorities, the victim is a 16-year-old girl and the situation happened on March 17th.
“The facts were accomplished at the suspect’s residence, where the victim and common friends went, after socializing at a nightlife establishment in the city of Horta”reads the note.
The detainee, aged 25 and with a criminal record, will be brought before the competent judicial authorities, for the application of coercive measures.
The PJ investigation had already been announced and, according to what RTP Açores reported today, three men were under investigation – but the note makes no reference to more suspects.
According to the channel, the youngest is from another island in the Central Group of the archipelago, also made up of Pico, Terceira, São Jorge and Graciosa, but is studying in the city of Horta.
