Located in the heart of Viseu, Avenida Boutique Hotel celebrates its long history and significant renovation, which culminated in its elevation to 4-star category and the transition into an elegant Boutique Hotel. With an investment of 1.7 million euros, the hotel underwent structural and positioning changes in the market, remaining a point of reference in the region.
Founded at the end of the 19th century as the “Grand Hotel Avenida”, the establishment was initially conceived as a family home, before transforming into an emblematic hotel. Over the years, it has hosted prominent figures in Portuguese and international history, from Humberto Delgado to José Saramago. The renovation works, which lasted from 2016 until recently, aimed to expand the building and requalify the hotel unit, adapting it to the comfort standards required for a 4-star rating.
The project included the addition of seven rooms and four suites, as well as the creation of new areas, such as a meeting room and a regional product boutique. Financed through equity and a successful application for Business Innovation Incentives, the investment was crucial to the realization of this ambitious project, which aims not only to modernize the facilities, but also to realign the hotel’s business strategy.
The new identity of Avenida Boutique Hotel combines modernity with a characteristic vintage style, maintaining its simple and sober elegance. The services offered have been improved to guarantee a memorable experience for guests, from the 24-hour reception to the offer of regional products for breakfast. With the repositioning, the hotel aims to increase its occupancy rate and its notoriety, investing in national and international markets and aligning itself with sustainable practices. Furthermore, the establishment intends to consolidate itself as a reference in the city and the region, maintaining its commitment to responsible tourism.
For the future, Avenida Boutique Hotel plans to continue improving the guest experience and attracting new markets, in addition to implementing initiatives such as literary gatherings in its reading room, providing an even more unique and enriching experience for visitors.
