REN (Redes Energéticas Nacionais) donated a vehicle to ARCIAL – Association for the Recovery of Disabled Citizens of Oliveira do Hospital. This vehicle will be used mainly to transport technicians to schools and homes, reinforcing the institution’s response capacity.
Operating since 1980, ARCIAL currently provides support to the community through its Training and Inclusion Activities Center, with 60 users, two Autonomous Inclusion Residences, with 10 users, and through the training aspect, in which it trains around 40 people every year. ARCIAL also has a Resource Center for Inclusion, where its therapists provide support to around 50 students in schools in the municipalities of Oliveira do Hospital and Tábua. The institution also created a Services aspect, in which it provides tasks in the areas of gardening and hygiene and cleaning of spaces, as noted in the joint press release that the two organizations sent to Rádio Boa Nova.
For Artur Abreu, president of the Board of Directors of ARCIAL, “the arrival of this vehicle will make the service provided to users and customers more effective and allow for the always necessary renewal of the fleet. ARCIAL vehicles travel hundreds of kilometers every day, always with the aim of fulfilling their mission of actively intervening in the community and enabling and contributing to the rehabilitation of the public they serve. It is a privilege to be able to count on the contribution of a company with the size and impact of REN in the effort to move our objectives forward.”
“We recognize the importance of ARCIAL’s work with the community and we are very pleased to be able to contribute to its activity through the donation of this vehicle”, explains Margarida Ferreirinha, Director of Sustainability and Communication at REN. In its future plans, ARCIAL plans to create a Residential Home with 30 places, the construction of two new Autonomous Inclusion Residences for a further 10 users and also a Socio-Occupational Unit to increase its response capacity.
As part of the IRS 2023 campaign, which starts this Monday (1), ARCIAL calls on everyone to choose it as an entity for IRS assignment. The option, at no cost to the taxpayer, assigns a total of 0.5% of the tax amount allocated to the State, to an institution of the taxpayer’s choice.
