The hotel in Slovenia that hosted the Portugal team for a friendly match between the two teams last week decided to take advantage of Cristiano Ronaldo’s presence on its premises and put up for auction the bed from the room in which the Portuguese star slept. The value, according to the local press, is 5 thousand euros (around R$30 thousand).

The idea of auctioning off the bed in which Cristiano Ronaldo slept came from the uproar that the star’s presence caused in the country. Thousands of fans chased the Portuguese around the city, and gathered at the door of the Gran Plaza Hotel in search of an autograph, a photo or even a record of his presence in the capital, Ljubljana.

The fans ended up becoming disillusioned, as CR7 had little contact with them, and left the country shortly after Portugal’s 2-0 defeat in their own security scheme. According to the hotel, the auction will last until the beginning of April, and the proceeds will be donated to a charity.
