VW Autoeuropa workers deserve more than what resulted from the new negotiation of the Claims Book and which does not respond to what was expressed in the plenary sessions. For an appropriate response, no form of struggle will be ruled out.

The last result released, referring to the negotiation of the Claims Booklet, does not meet what the workers expressed in the plenary sessions on the 12th and 13th, understands the SITE Sul Trade Union Committee.

The Administration demonstrates, with its latest proposal, that it maintains a stance of devaluation and insult to workers — stated in a statement issued today by the union.

The employer’s side withdrew from the negotiation the unblocking of salary bands, a measure that would cover many of the oldest workers, who have long deserved due recognition from the company, for their decades-long contribution to the success of VW Autoeuropa. And it would also allow younger people to have a fairer salary progression in the future.

The Administration reveals bad faith in negotiations, because it continues to try to impose its intention to obtain a agreement for three years. This goes against the will of the workers, recorded in the Claims Book. Furthermore, workers have already expressed their dissatisfaction and rejected this term of validity of the agreement in plenary.

In this new proposal, the values referring to the salary increase remain insufficient for workers to recover the purchasing power lost with the increase in the cost of living, which is much higher than the official inflation rate.

VW Autoeuropa and the VW Group are in a position to meet the fair demands of workers, as shown by the many millions of euros in profits they recorded and for which the workers’ efforts were decisive.
