Azores Airlines receives the second A320neo unit, marking progress in fleet renewal.

Azores Airlines celebrated a significant milestone this weekend with the first commercial flights of its second unit, solidifying the process of continuous modernization of the airline’s fleet. This new acquisition represents a strategic step in the gradual replacement of the A320ceo models with this more advanced version of the aircraft.

Just like the first unit, which entered service last January, this second aircraft also has a 168-seat configuration. Equipped with state-of-the-art engines (High-Bypass) and cutting-edge aerodynamic technology (Airbus Sharklets™ wings), Azores Airlines’ new A320neo promotes a significant reduction in fuel consumption, gas emissions and noise, in addition to offering lower operating costs. lows and greater payload compared to previous generation aircraft.

Teresa Gonçalves, President of the Group, expressed the importance of this moment for the airline, highlighting that “This moment is lived with special enthusiasm, as it marks the completion of a relevant step in the consolidation of Azores Airlines’ sustainability strategy“. Furthermore, he emphasized the operational and comfort benefits that this new addition brings, ensuring a more pleasant travel experience for passengers.

Inside the cabin, the atmosphere is characterized by the distinctive blue tones of the SATA Azores Airlines brand. This was carefully customized, from the seats to the details, with bulkheads that divide the different areas. A lighting scheme was designed to create a welcoming atmosphere, alternating between shades of blue and green, complemented by sounds of nature inspired by the beauty of the Azores Archipelago, the main destination for the Group’s airlines. This attention to detail seeks to recreate the unique serenity of the Azorean islands for passengers during the flight.
