Journalist Jorge Castilho was re-elected president of AAEC – Association of Former Students of Coimbra, for the three-year period 2024-2026. The vice-president is João Caseiro, who until recently presided over the Coimbra Academic Association.
The elections took place on Saturday, the 30th, with a single list competing, which was elected without any votes against, and whose composition is as follows:

President – João Gabriel Silva, former Rector of the University of Coimbra and president of the Pedro Nunes Institute. Vice-President – Teresa Almeida Santos, Professor at the Faculty of Medicine. Secretaries: Mateus Mendes, doctor; and Mónica Quintela – lawyer, former PSD deputy.
DIRECTION
President: Jorge Castilho, journalist. Among other functions, he is president of the Advisory Board of the General Library of the University of Coimbra. Vice-President – João Caseiro, former president of AAC, PhD candidate in Educational Sciences. Secretaries: Aurora Branquinho Serra e Silva, doctor; and José Rocha Diniz, journalist, former Professor at the University of Macau and president of AAEC in Macau. Treasurer – Isabel Miraldo Pires, retired teacher. Members – Carlos Luzio Vaz, jurist, former general secretary of the University of Coimbra; and João de Lemos Mexia, engineer and former director of IEFP.
