The work entitled “Tracing lithic raw materials from Outeiro do Circo (Beja, Portugal) – portable X-Ray Fluorescence (pXRF) utility”, was written by Sofia Soares, Teresa Silva, Miguel Serra, Eduardo Porfírio and Sofia Silva.

The document focuses on the geochemical characterization of lithic artefacts, mostly sickle denticulate, through the use of portable X-ray Fluorescence equipment and its comparison with results obtained by other methods, with the aim of identifying chemical “fingerprints”. that allow lithic artefacts to be related to the types of rock in the region.

Outeiro do Circo is one of the largest Bronze Age settlements known in the Iberian Peninsula, with around 17 hectares, and the element that stands out most is the wall, which still surrounds it almost entirely today, hidden in dense trees, in a It is approximately 2 km long and has great complexity, both in terms of construction techniques and in the way it occupied the top of the hill, with sections of double wall line or circular bastions that defend the entrance area.
