Penacova: requalification to improve access to the highway

Last week, the visit of the travel program to the parishes of the municipality of Felgueiras, within the scope of the “Open Presidency”, took place in the parish of Penacova.

The delegation led by the Mayor of Felgueiras, Nuno Fonseca, visited local institutions, several industrial units, among others, thus fulfilling the program proposed by the Parish Council. The trip culminated in a meeting, attended by several members of the municipal executive and the parish’s local authorities.

Jorge Marinho, president of the Penacova Parish Council, highlighted some of the issues addressed, starting with the concern regarding “the coverage of the public water network and also sanitation, even though sanitation is in progress, it is being built , but for now, it’s just a part of the parish.”

Meanwhile, the Municipal Council of Felgueiras began the requalification of a road that connects Capela do Senhor Perdidos to the Industrial Zone of Barrancas. The road to be upgraded is approximately one kilometer long. “It’s what’s going to revolutionize us a bit, because we’re going to be two steps away from the highway, the rectification [da via] has already started, it will be eight meters wide, it will have a sidewalk, a work worth highlighting, as it was not part of the plans of the Board, nor of the Felgueiras City Council”.

In fact, Jorge Marinho believes in the double added value of this work. On the one hand, “privileged access to the highway, in Revinhade, and the Barrancas Industrial Zone”.

“I think we will be very well served”, highlights the mayor, who does not indicate deadlines for the completion of this project.
