Celebrations of the 50th anniversary of April 25th in Torres Novas with tributes: Gazeta Rural

The Municipality of Torres Novas marks Freedom Day with a program commemorating the 50th anniversary of April 25, 1974, which includes the solemn session, taking place in the morning, at Parque da Liberdade, where in the afternoon political prisoners will be honored natives and residents of Torres Novas.

Also noteworthy is the inauguration of the exhibition «Elections and elected officials in Torres Novas» in the Town Hall and the concert “Sons of the Revolution” by Júlio Resende, with free entry, at the Teatro Virgínia, with the usual dance continuing in Praça dos Claras popular, led by Xarepa Band, with pig on a skewer.

In order to mark the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution, the official celebrations are part of a vast program of municipal activities, taking place between April and December this year, which will be announced in due course and which includes initiatives that fit into the objectives and purpose of the celebrations. , validated by the Executive Committee, made up of elements from the various parties and political movements with seats in the Municipal Assembly of Torres Novas.
