The husband of a cafe owner in Faro was attacked and stabbed 11 times after refusing to serve a coffee. Two of the suspects were arrested by the PJ and are in pre-trial detention.

As announced this Wednesday by the Public Ministry (MP), “it is strongly indicted by the facts that, on March 22, 2024, one of the defendants started an argument in a commercial establishment, in Faro, with the offended party, a navy soldier, because he refused to serve coffee”.

The MP states that, “after being expelled from the establishment by the offended party, the husband of the café owner, the defendant, together with his brother, the other defendant, and two other unidentified individuals, returned to that commercial establishment, attacking the victim with a punch. , followed by several attacks by the remaining individuals”.

Afterwards, one of the individuals “inflicted 11 stab wounds with a pocket knife on the victim’s body, hitting him in various parts of his body”. The four individuals fled, while the victim “was admitted in serious condition and underwent surgery”.

After the judicial interrogation, on March 25, the two defendants, accused of committing a crime of qualified homicide, in the attempted form, were subject to the coercive measure of preventive detention.

The investigation is led by the DIAP Public Prosecutor’s Office in Faro, assisted by the Judiciary Police.
