The ordinary meeting of the Intermunicipal Assembly of the Intermunicipal Community of Alto Alentejo (CIMAA) took place last Thursday, April 18, at the Convento de São Francisco, in Castelo de Vide. The ordinary meeting is marked by the unanimous approval of the Activity Report and the 2023 Management Account.

Before the agenda, the intermunicipal deputies got to know, first-hand, the book “Venham Mais Cinquenta”, a compendium of 15 thematic texts written by 4th year students, with illustrations by 3rd year students of the School Groups in Alto Alentejo. This is an initiative that took place in partnership with the Fábrica de Histórias da CABEÇUDOS, with invaluable didactic and educational value, and which involved a total of 668 children. Another component of this project consisted of the conversations that the students had with some personalities from our country, who provided them with context about the importance of April 25, 1974.

As usually happens, deputies were informed about the activities carried out by CIMAA between December 2023 and April 2024, in the various areas of intervention in this community, with a special focus on an update on the work that has been carried out in relation to the Hydraulic Exploitation of Crato Multiple Ends – Pisão Dam.

The Assembly was preceded by the celebration of the 50th anniversary of April 25, 1974, where CIMAA paid homage to local power and one of the great heroes of the “Carnation Revolution”: Fernando José Salgueiro Maia.
