On Tuesday, the United States Congress approved another military and economic aid package for Ukraine, worth 61 billion dollars.

“Finally, after more than six months of hard work and many upheavals, the United States is sending a message to the world: we will not turn our backs on them,” said Chuck Schumer, the Democratic leader.

“I will sign this bill and speak to the American people as soon as it reaches my office tomorrow so that we can begin shipping weapons and equipment this week,” declared Joe Biden, President of the United States.

His Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, has already thanked him via social media. “I thank Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for their steadfast leadership in passing this bipartisan legislation, as well as all senators from both parties who voted in favor,” wrote the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensk.

“I also appreciate President Biden’s support and look forward to the law’s prompt ratification,” he added.
