Around 350 people recently attended the Moimenta da Beira Municipal Meeting in Lisbon

Around 350 people recently attended the Moimenta da Beira Municipal Meeting in Lisbon, which broke the registration record. The initiative took place at Voz do Operário, bringing together people from the municipality who live in the capital and surrounding areas.

The record was the organization’s highest record since the meeting began in 2022. “We spent fewer hours as a family to make this meeting a reality. It’s a lot of work, but in the end it’s worth it because we see that everyone is happy,” he said.

The meeting was marked by a tribute to the director of the newspaper Terras do Demo, Gil Carvalho, for the way he has promoted the municipality of Moimenta da Beira.

The event was also attended by chef Fábio Bernardino – who made the cake for the meeting –, fado singer António Pinto Basto – who gave a concert – and musician João Silva, from Inseparáveis, who provided entertainment with popular music.

Representing the Lisbon City Council was the municipal director of culture, Laurentina Pereira, who reiterated the opening of the capital to the rest of the country. “Lisbon is privileged. It is very rich, diverse and promotes these synergies that connect us to Moimenta and so many other spaces in this country. I am in awe of this organization,” she said.

The mayor of Moimenta da Beira, Paulo Figueiredo, highlighted the meeting that brought together people from the municipality “who are in Lisbon, work with affection and dedication and are very classy people”.

“This event is the biggest we have outside our territory and has already reached a level of excellence. You are greatly missed in the municipality of Moimenta, on the other hand, Lisbon gains a lot from your presence here”, he said.
