The organizer of the 33rd edition of the festival, Pedro Pinto, called on people from Braga to participate in the performances, “whether at Theatro Circo, serenades or passacalles”.

The complete program of the XXXIII FITU Bracara Avgvsta – International Tunas Festival is now known. In a press conference, which took place on Tuesday morning at the A Brasileira café, in Braga, the Tuna Universitária do Minho (TUM) announced the participation, in the competition, of five national academic tunas and another from Peru.

The Tuna Universitária from Instituto Superior Técnico, Tuna de Medicina do Porto, Estudantina Académica de Castelo Branco, Tuna da Universidade Católica do Porto, Tuna Universitária de Aveiro and La Tuna de La FIC de Perú will compete to take top honors of this edition of FITU. TUM also revealed that the festival will feature extra-competition performances by Azeituna and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Student Orchestra.

The XXXIII FITU Bracara Avgvsta takes place between April 26th and 27th. On the holiday, the 25th, the city of Braga hosts the usual Serenades, which are part of the festival and, this year, the Municipality’s celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution. On Saturday, there will also be a passacalles in the city’s Historic Center, with the presence of all the tunas and with the special participation of Rusga de São Vicente de Braga, Associação Cultural e Artística Ida e Volta and Bomboémia.
