Grand Order of Freedom for ANAFRE

At the heart of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of April 25, 74, Fernando Caria, president of the Union of Parishes of Montijo and Afonsoeiro, received an outstanding distinction: the Grand Order of Freedom, a distinction directed to the work carried out by ANAFRE.

The ceremony, held today, marked not only the jubilee of the emblematic historical event, but also recognized the vital role played by parishes and Democratic Local Power in preserving and promoting freedom in Portugal.

In a singular gesture of recognition, the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, honored Fernando Caria, who is also a member of the ANAFRE Board of Directors, with the prestigious decoration. The Grand Order of Freedom is a tribute to the great effort and exemplary dedication to the work carried out by ANAFRE in favor of the democratic values ​​of the country and the parishes.

Over the years, Fernando Caria has been a prominent figure on the local political scene, tirelessly dedicating himself to the well-being and progress of the communities he represents. His contribution to promoting democracy and strengthening local institutions is now recognized on a large scale, highlighting the great importance of parishes in building a freer and fairer society.
