Before the inauguration, at 10.30 am, a moment is planned next to nº 5 on Avenida Vasco da Gama, Former Headquarters of Pide/DGS, in Beja, in April 1974, with interventions by Constantino Piçarra, curator of the exhibition and Conceição Casanova, president of the Municipal Assembly of Beja,. There is also “Cante de Abril”, by the Grupo de Cantadores de Nª Sª das Neves.

Starting at 11 am and already at the Casa da Cultura, “Cante de Abril” is planned by Cantadores do Desassossego and Grupo Coral de Baleizão, followed by the opening of the exhibition “Beja in the April Revolution” curated by Constantino Piçarra. An intervention by the Mayor of Beja, Paulo Arsénio, is planned, followed by a guided tour of the exhibition and the distribution of the book published as part of the exhibition.

After the visit, “Grândola Vila Morena” will be heard, by the Grupo de Cantadores de Nª Sª das Neves, Cantadores do Desassossego and Grupo Coral de Baleizão.

From 12.30 pm the 3 choral groups will parade through Portas de Mértola. This is an initiative promoted by the Chamber of Beja and comes as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April.
