Registration for the Professional Courses test

Registration for the Professional Courses Competition takes place from May 6th to May 24th, 2024. The test takes place on June 12th, at 3:00 pm.

The University of Algarve will hold, on May 8th, at 10:30 am, and May 20th, at 2:30 pm, two information sessions on access to Higher Education through the Special Competition for Holders of Dual Certification Courses in Secondary Education and Specialized Artistic Courses.

About the Competition for Professional Courses

This competition allows students with a completed course to apply for bachelor’s and master’s degrees integrated into Higher Education Institutions covered by Rede Sul e Ilhas. In addition to UAlg, the Polytechnic Institutes of Beja, Portalegre, Setúbal and Santarém, the Universities of Madeira, Évora and Azores and also the Escola Superior de Hotelaria e Turismo do Estoril and the Escola Superior Náutica Infante are part of the South and Islands Network. To do this, students must complete a proof of knowledge depending on the secondary education training area and the degree to which they intend to apply. The test is organized into two parts: Portuguese Language and Culture and Specific Test (Biology, History and Culture of Arts, Psychology, Mathematics, Mathematics for Social Sciences and Education, Economics), being valid for application to all HEIs in the Network South and Islands. Online registration for the Test will take place from May 6th to 24th and can be done here.

After passing the test, the student must apply online for higher education on the General Directorate of Higher Education website (www.dges.gov.pt/), in a timetable to be announced.

The purpose of this competition is to contribute to equal opportunities among candidates for Higher Education. Until now, all students graduating from professional paths were subject to taking National Exams that assess subjects that are not part of their course curriculum.
