19-year-old young man arrested in Viseu for stealing a cell phone by stretching it

The suspect was caught and admitted responsibility for the crime, having been taken to the Viseu PSP police station. The young man was also made a defendant and will appear in court this Friday afternoon

A 19-year-old young man was arrested on suspicion of committing the crime of robbery by stretch, in Viseu. The case happened on Av. Dr. António José de Almeida on Wednesday afternoon (April 24).

The suspect, already known to the authorities, was accompanied by two young minors, but ended up assuming responsibility for the crime, Jornal do Centro learned from the authorities.

The complaint was made by the victim, who after being robbed went to the Municipal Police facilities, located nearby. Given the situation, a team of police went after the perpetrators of the crime and ended up being detected in a shopping center, also located close to the scene of the robbery.

The suspect ended up admitting responsibility for the crime and was taken to the Viseu PSP police station. The young man was also named a defendant and will appear in court this Friday afternoon (April 26).

The PSP also announced the arrest of a 55-year-old woman for driving under the influence of alcohol. The patient underwent a blood alcohol test and showed a BAC (blood alcohol level) of 2.11g/l. The case happened on April 25th, at 5:31 am, on Rua Serpa Pinto, in Viseu.
