The celebration of education in the municipality was hosted at Cine-Teatro Garrett, on April 13th, with the 2nd edition of the Family Gala, a moment that also served to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the Federation of Parents’ Associations and Education Guardians of Póvoa de Varzim (FAPEEP).
The initiative served to distinguish and recognize local schools as “Child Friendly School”, a title that highlights the institutions for their meritorious work in key areas of education: Colégio de Amorim, Escola Básica de Aver-o-Mar, Escola Básica Cego do Maio, Escola Básica da Giesteira, Escola Básica da Pedreira, Escola Básica da Quinta, Escola Básica das Fontainhas, Escola Básica das Machuqueiras, Escola Básica de Rates, Escola Básica de Desterro, Escola Básica do Século, Escola Básica Dr. Flávio Gonçalves, New School, Cruz Kindergarten, Fontainhas Kindergarten, Health Kindergarten, Laúndos Kindergarten and Professor Luís Amaro Kindergarten.
In front of a room full of students, parents, guardians, school directors, school employees and FAPEEP partners, the President of the board, Magda Costa, thanked everyone for their commitment and collaboration in the paths towards the future of education and families.
Present at the event, the Vice-President and Councilor for Education of the Póvoa de Varzim City Council, Luís Diamantino, highlighted the importance of celebrating education, because “they highlight the daily work of all the excellent professionals we have and who, all every day, they contribute with their effort and dedication to the training of our young people”.
