Galamba believes he will be cleared in the Influencer case and disagrees with the PGR going to the Assembly of the Republic – Politics

The former Minister of Infrastructure, João Galamba, said this Friday that he believes he will be cleared in the Influencer process and disagrees that the Attorney General of the Republic, Lucília Gago, should provide clarifications in Parliament.

“I have a perfectly clear conscience regarding everything I did, I know everything I did, I also know everything I didn’t do. I know how this process will end: either with the filing or, if there is an accusation, I will end up being cleared”, said João Galamba, in an interview with CNN Portugal.

The former minister and Secretary of State for António Costa’s executives also said that he has not yet been heard within the scope of the process that caused the fall of the Socialist Party Government, despite having already presented “a request” for that purpose “immediately following the searches” that he was subjected to on November 7th.

João Galamba, who is accused in the case, argued that Lucília Gago does not have to provide any clarifications in the Assembly of the Republic.

“The Prosecutor[-Geral da República] he is not answerable to Parliament, he is not politically responsible for this. I don’t think it’s correct and it doesn’t seem like it’s the right place for this type of communication”, he considered.

João Galamba, who shared the government with the current leader of the Socialist Party, also assured that he has not spoken to Pedro Nuno Santos “since May 2023”.

“We were once closer, so to speak. No [tenho] at all [falado com ele]. He didn’t tell me anything in the last few months, not even on the day of the searches”, assured the former government official, who also says he has withdrawn from politics due to his procedural status as a defendant and will now provide international consultancy in the area of ​​energy. .
