Infrastructure closed for works due to roofing problems

From this Monday (April 29th), municipal swimming pools in Viseu will resume all activities. The infrastructure was closed due to coverage problems.

The municipality announced the reopening of the space, stating that the work is “complete”. “Having completed the work that led to the temporary closure of the Viseu Municipal Swimming Pools, the Municipality of Viseu informs that they will reopen next Monday, April 29th. All regular activities will resume at the scheduled times in the current 2023/2024 sports season”, he states.

To the Swimming pools were closed for several weeks and, at the time of closure, the municipality’s sports councilor, Pedro Ribeiro, explained that there were several problems that forced the temporary closure.

“As a result of last week’s storm, two roof panels ended up coming off and this led us to close the entire structure,” he said.

In addition to this problem, the person in charge mentioned that there was another situation that had already forced the closure of one of the three swimming pools. “One of the roof support cables came loose and when that happened we put up a protective net so that nothing would fall and ensure everyone’s safety. In fact, we closed this pool and left the others open,” he recalled.
