Guido Guerrini/Artur Prusak win Azores Eco Rally

The Azores Eco Rallye was the second stage of the Portugal New Energy Championship – PRIO, part of the Bridgestone FIA ​​ecoRally Cup, the “World Championship” of the sport, it was won by the Italian-Polish duo Guido Guerrini/Artur Prusak, driving a Kia E-Niro.

The Czech duo Michal Zdarsky/Jakub Nabelek, drove a Hyundai to second place, with the Portuguese Nuno Serrano/Alexandre Berardo, driving a Kia Ev6 GT Line, reaching third place.

Guerrini and Prusak also won the regularity competition, counting for the Portuguese Championship, with the other two places on the podium being occupied respectively by Nuno Serrano/ Alexandre Berardo and Michal Zdarsky/Jakub Nabelek.

In the energy efficiency component, the team of Carlos Silva and Sancho Ramalho won, in BMWi3.

The participants also competed in a “Street Stage”, an extra-championship, which was won by the duo Pedro Morais/Silvia Coutinho, followed by Nuno Serrano/Alexandre Berardo, with third place being achieved by Michal Zdarsky/Jakub Nabelek.

Paulo Miguel Rego, director of the event, begins by highlighting that “being able to combine non-polluting sport with the natural landscape of the Azores always has great symbolism”. The director of the Azores Eco Rally 2024 also highlights that “the event was extremely positive, with the drivers praising the organization. It was very important in terms of visibility that the race could be part of the Bridgestone FIA ​​ecoRally Cup and now we have to wait for the analysis that the FIA ​​will carry out on the various reports and believe that in 2025 it will be possible to hold the race also counting towards the international championship.”

The Portugal New Energy Championship – PRIO, now continues its mission of combining motor sport with environmental issues – raising awareness among the population of the importance of alternative energies and promoting decarbonization in motor sport – through a third stage that will held from July 27th to 28th, in Proença-a-Nova.
