The Municipality of Azambuja once again celebrates, in the month of May, the already traditional “Month of Bullfighting Culture”. The twenty-fifth edition will take place between the 1st and 22nd of May, and will culminate with the Azambuja May Fair, the most traditional of Ribatejo festivals.

With a program full of activities linked to bullfighting, the 25th Month of Bullfighting Culture of Azambuja promises to surprise and delight fans and those curious about this emblematic art.

The event will begin on May 1st, in the Auditorium of the Centro Social Paroquial de Azambuja, with the presentation of exhibitions organized by the municipality and a performance by the Escola de Sevilhanas Las Hermosas, from the Associação Cultural A Poisada do Campino, in celebration of the 10th anniversary from school.

Among the exhibitions planned are the “Taurus Murus” exhibition, the exhibition “In search of the treasure of the May Fair” and a photography exhibition entitled “The May Fair”, which promise to transport visitors to the world of bullfighting.

Throughout the month, talks, fairs, shows and other initiatives linked to bullfighting culture are scheduled. Highlights include the “TOIROEARTE” colloquium, the “Azambuja Sevillaníssima” show – VI Festival de Escolas de Sevilhanas, the “PARLATOIRO” colloquium and two equestrian events.

The program ends with a flourish, on May 22nd, with a dance to the sound of the band “Compis Del Cante” and an exciting vacada.

Organized by the Azambuja City Council in partnership with several local entities, the XXV Month of Bullfighting Culture promises to celebrate the tradition and art of bullfighting.
