The Municipality of Tavira established the social support program Banco de Bens e Serviços Essíveis para Animais (BSEA) with the aim of providing support to people and families with few economic resources, providing basic animal goods and services.
This program also aims to support caregivers of cat colonies authorized by the Municipality of Tavira, within the scope of the capture-sterilization-return program, who voluntarily take their time to care for those animals and collaborate with municipal services, in safeguarding their well-being. -being and reproductive control.
Note from the municipality that, in addition to the Goods Bank, support is also available for veterinary medicine consultations.
With this program, the municipality aims to reduce abandonment and neglect of animal care, since one of its main causes is the lack of financial resources.
Donations to BSEA can be made at the following locations: Environment Division (Casa André Pilarte), Welfare, Health and Animal Health Unit (Fonte Salgada), Social Affairs Division (Rua da Liberdade), Parish Council of Tavira, Santa Luzia Parish Council, Conceição and Cabanas de Tavira Parish Council, Santa Catarina Parish Council, Cachopo Parish Council and Luz de Tavira and Santo Estevão Parish Council.
