Cold, rain and snow return in force this week

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) predicts that from Tuesday, April 30, temperatures will drop and the cold and rain will return in force across the country.

IPMA foresees, for this Monday, cloudy sky for across the country and a slight increase in maximum temperature. The highest temperature (21ºC) will be recorded in Setúbal and Funchal and the lowest (1ºC) in Bragança.

On Tuesday, temperatures drop again despite a rise in the minimum temperature (4ºC). It is also expected the return of the rain throughout the continental territory and in Santa Cruz das Flores. Periods of precipitation will be heaviest in the early morning and afternoon.

Snowfall is still expected in regions above a thousand meters in altitude.

Regarding Wednesday, temperatures register a slight drop in maximum values ​​and the rain continues across the continent and extends to the Azores archipelago.

The highest temperature (21ºC) will be recorded in the Madeira archipelago and in Horta, in the Azores. The minimum (2ºC), according to forecasts, is recorded again in Bragança.

According to IPMA, the weather starts to improve from ThursdayMay 2nd.
