Mapear – School Exhibition of Performing Arts kicked off this Monday in Braga on World Dance Day, with a full house, to watch the show “p(ART)age”, by the Trigal Santa Maria School Group.

The first day was also marked by the presentation of the musical show “The dream of a teenager” by the Sá de Miranda School Group.

Until May 6th, around 400 students from 12 schools in the municipality will take to the stage at Espaço Vita, for another School Performing Arts Exhibition. There are eight days of Mapear 2024, with the presentation of new artistic works in the areas of dance, music, theater, musical theater, singing and disciplinary intersections.

After the premiere, Mapear continues with a daily schedule. This Tuesday, April 30th, two theater plays will be presented. At 11:30, the Agrupamento de Escolas de Real takes the stage with the play “In the name of freedom”. At 4:00 pm, it is the turn of the André Soares School Group to present “O dia da Liberdade” and an “excerpt from “O Colar” by Sophia de Mello Breyner.

On the May 1st holiday, Colégio Ludo Internacional de Braga will present, at 9:00 pm, “Grease, The Musical”. “The Gods also sleep” is the document that will be presented on May 2nd, at 11:30 am, by the group of schools dr. Francisco Sanchez. At 9pm, the Alberto Sampaio school group presents “A Noite”, a show that crosses different artistic disciplines.

“A Magia do Luar de Abril” is the play presented by the Celeirós school group on May 3rd, at 11:30 am. At 9pm, the Calouste Gulbenkian Music Conservatory in Braga presents Christoph Gluck’s opera “Orphée et Eurydice”.

On May 4th, dance takes the stage with “Tons” by the Agrupamento de Escolas de Maximinos.

Closing Mapear 2024, on May 6th, will be the Carlos Amarante and Dona Maria II school groups with the theater shows “Aqui, where the land ends and the sea begins” at 11:30 and “Liberdade”, at 4:00 pm.

Tickets cost 2 euros, and box office revenue will be donated entirely to schools. Tickets can be purchased on ticketline or at the Espaço Vita box office. More information at [email protected].
