The Faro PSP arrested eight people this weekend for the crimes of possession of a prohibited weapon, robbery, driving without a legal license and driving while drunk, in the cities of Faro, Olhão, Tavira and Lagos.

In Lagos, the arrest took place following disrespect that occurred in the early hours of April 27th, using a firearm.

Although these facts were not communicated to the police, the PSP says that steps were taken to identify the suspects.

The suspect was then identified and detained, in possession of a firearm. Following investigations, it was also possible to seize another firearm, ammunition, drugs and money related to trafficking.

The PSP also highlights the arrest of two men suspected of committing robbery, in the city of Faro.

«The victim went to the police who were patrolling the area where he was, reporting that he had been the victim of robbery and assault, just moments before».

Given the description, the police intercepted two suspects, and all the stolen goods, worth several thousand euros, were recovered. The two men were detained.

In the same period, following road inspections, in the cities of Olhão and Tavira, five other citizens were arrested for committing crimes.

In a note, the PSP reiterates the need and importance of communicating criminal incidents in a timely manner to the nearest units.
