MAR Shopping Algarve supports men’s health with the 7th edition of the ‘Prevent it Like a Gentleman’ campaign

MAR Shopping Algarve announces the return of the ‘Prevent it Like a Gentleman’ campaign, a solidarity initiative focused on men’s health, which takes place between May 4th and 19th at the meeting place.

The seventh edition of this campaign aims to promote the importance of prostate cancer prevention and male mental health, through offer of PSA screenings, carried out at the HPA Health Clinic. In addition to screenings, the action will feature several activities, including DGR and Triumph motorcycle exhibitionswhich will take place between April 30th and May 19th. The work of artist João Jesus, known for reusing parts from motorbikes, bicycles and automobiles in his metal creations, will also be on display.

The campaign ‘Prevent it Like a Gentleman’ joins, once again, the international project ‘The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride’, which on May 19th will host a vintage motorcycle tour, departing from Faro to MAR Shopping Algarve. The event will end with live music, from 2pm to 8pm, in the leisure area of ​​the meeting place. All participants will also be able to record the moment and take photos of their motorcycles in a photowall created for this purpose.

Since its inception, this initiative has already registered 1470 PSA screenings, resulting in the early detection and treatment of several cases of prostate cancer. In the last two years, 5% of the 449 tests carried out led to 22 people being referred for appropriate treatment.
