The summer courses at the University of Algarve (UAlg) will take place this year from the 1st to the 5th and from the 8th to the 12th of July, informed the Algarve Academy. The courses will allow visitors to experience the university environment and interact with the academic community.
The courses are aimed exclusively at candidates up to and including 18 years of age, covering various areas of study, including Arts and Design; Sciences; Communication; Sport; Economy, Management and Tourism; Engineering and Technology; Psychology and Education; and health.
“Having as main objectives to strengthen the connection to society, promote a taste for the different areas of teaching and research at UAlg and help young people in their vocational choice, this initiative also allows for a more real experience of academic life on the campuses and contact with students university students and teachers at the Academy”, highlights UAlg in a statement.
Teaching and experimental activities take place in the morning. The afternoon is reserved for sporting and leisure activities.
According to UAlg, several municipalities have already joined this initiative and established collaboration protocols with the University, thus encouraging the participation of primary and secondary education students in summer courses.
