The Fundação Bienal de Arte de Cerveira (FBAC) participated, in Brussels, in a meeting of ?uroFÄB?IQ??, a project of the European Union’s Creative Europe program of which it is a partner entity. The president of FBAC, Rui Teixeira, was present in the event program which, in addition to work sessions, included a visit to the European Parliament, having the opportunity to publicize the Cerveira International Art Biennial.
The ?uroFÄB?IQ?? is a creative project for young people that began in February 2022, with its first edition at the Grand Palais Éphémère, in Paris. The success was such that the National Association of Higher Education Schools of Art (ANdEA) tried to expand it and transform it into a long-term initiative. Once the challenge was launched, an application was submitted to the Creative Europe program, of which FBAC is a partner together with the entities ANdEA, Gip Le Signe – Center National Du Graphisme, in France, and the Asociatia Clusterul de Industrii Creative Transilvania, in Romania. . It was in this context that the president of FBAC, Rui Teixeira, and the project team traveled to Brussels for a work session that took place on the premises of the National School of Visual Arts of La Cambre and which, among other matters, aimed at selecting participants from ‘?uroFÄB?IQ?? Art Camp’ which takes place in Vila Nova de Cerveira, from the 23rd to the 27th of September, at the XXIII Cerveira International Art Biennial.
Supported by the European Creative Europe program with 200 thousand euros and a co-financing rate of 80%, the project aims to raise awareness of the role of artists and designers as drivers of social, political, economic and cultural development and resilience.
