This year’s edition of the Leiria Fair begins on Tuesday, the 30th, the day before the Labor Day holiday, and will run until May 26th. On the first day of the event, the musician Toy will take the stage, followed, on the 3rd, Friday, by Van Zee, and by Diogo Piçarra, on Saturday, the 4th.
In addition to the musical component, the event will feature around 230 exhibitors, 30 entertainment equipment and 50 food and drink sales spaces. There will also be a Restauração Square, operated by the municipality’s associative movement, with capacity to serve close to 110 thousand meals during the 27 days of the event.
In this year’s edition, the municipality hopes to surpass last year’s number of visitors, which reached 658 thousand, and will reinforce its commitment to the event’s sustainability. In addition to recycling paper and plastic, recovering cooking oil and using reusable cups – measures already applied in previous editions – the municipality decided to save on printing 400 m2 of canvas on the porches, replacing it with wooden decoration, that can be reused.
