The May Fair program is already known

Felgueiras is preparing to host another edition of its traditional May Fair, which promises three days of celebration, music and tradition. This event, which will take place from the 3rd to the 5th of May, is a celebration of the municipality’s cultural roots and offers a variety of activities for all ages.

The start of the fair is scheduled for Friday, May 3rd, with the Blessing of the Fair at 6pm in the Town Hall, followed by a wide range of activities including music, parades and traditional entertainment.

May Fair Program:

Friday, May 3:

  • 6:00 p.m.: Blessing of the fair in Paços do Concelho, with ambient music.
  • 7:00 p.m.: Troubadours liven up the city streets with medieval songs.
  • 7:30 p.m.: Presentation of birds of prey, attracting families to a nature and learning spectacle.
  • 8 p.m.: The “A Chave” parade, standing out as the main event of the day, starts next to the Municipal Swimming Pools and runs along the city’s main avenue to the Town Hall. At the same time, local taverns offer entertainment and entertainment.
  • 9pm and 11pm: The troubadours return to the streets, providing music until the end of the day’s activities at 11:30 pm.

Saturday, May 4th:

  • 11:00: Traveling music “Dawn in the old fashion” begins the second day.
  • 12:00 and 15:30: Troubadours continue their musical journey through the streets.
  • 1:00 p.m.: The taverns once again host popular festivals.
  • 17:00: The III Classic Carriage Parade runs through the streets, accompanied by music and drumming, culminating in a welcome at the Town Hall.
  • 6:00 pm until 11:30 pm: Continuous music performances, traditional dances by the Pauliteiros de Miranda and a concert by the group D’Alma & Corazón, followed by fire juggling to the beat of drums.

Sunday, May 5th:

  • 09:00: Start with the Flea Market on Rua Rebelo de Carvalho.
  • 11:00, 17:00 and 19:00: Old-fashioned traveling music.
  • 12:00 and 18:00: Performances by the troubadours.
  • 1:00 p.m.: Entertainment in taverns.
  • 4:00 p.m.: Folklore Festival, with various performances by local groups.
  • 8:30 p.m.: Musical show “Trovadores ao Mólho”.
  • 10 p.m.: Closing with the fire show, “Diamante Eventos”.

Throughout the event, the fairgrounds will be full of activities such as royal camping, falconry, horse and buggy rides, and various traditional games.
